My first show

This past Sunday, I was a vendor at my very first bridal show – wow was it an experience. I felt like it took months to get there! It all began when my super-supportive hubby saw some information at the country club, here in Highland Park. I called Marilyn, the most wonderful lady and owner of The Complete Wedding Expo and she encouraged me to jump in with two feet. What could I lose? So I did – I worked through choosing which pieces to show, which to keep out (which is tough – you get attached to those things!) and how I could best display my approach to the wedding business. I was a bit nervous how the brides and wedding market would take to “event branding,” but the comments and expressions were priceless. I met some amazing women, including Cindy who makes delicious cake pops and chocolate covered pretzels. (Seriously, they were my afternoon snack). The best part was that the show was right here in my backyard, so I got to meet vendors I didn’t imagine would be there – like the girls at The Art Center. What a fantastic place to have your wedding or event. Or the lovely ladies from Ravinia – I would love to attend a wedding in that lawn under the stars. So many places right here under our noses, and they go unnoticed. I can’t wait to work with the wonderful brides and colleagues I met on Sunday!
